"I know it sounds cliche, but I wanted to get into medicine to try and make a difference in people's lives" says Dr. Sheen
Along with three uncles and a cousin all in medicine, young David
was greatly influenced by his grandfather, an orthopedic surgeon.
"My grandfather is currently semi-retired but still sees patients and
enjoys it very much. I hope to continue working with that level of
enjoyment for as long as he has. He is an inspiration to me. I believe once you develop a trusting relationship with a patient, it is very
rewarding to see how a doctor's care can influence their health for
the better." Besides family medicine, sports medicine and pediatrics
are areas of special interest for Dr. Sheen. He has regularly
volunteered his time as a guest educator in Northridge elementary
and middle schools along with being a football team physician.
In his spare time, Dr. Sheen enjoys jogging and spending time with family, friends and his French bulldog, Mashimaro. He likes watching football, but claims basketball as his favorite sport to play and watch. As an avid reader, he is a fan of murder mysteries.
