Bristol Park Medical Group is pleased to announce that eight of our physicians have been named as Physicians of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association (OCMA). The honorees were just released in the annual January Health & Beauty issue of Orange Coast Magazine.

Chosen this year for outstanding patient care and their contribution to the community are: Dr. Arfa Babaknia, Dr. James Ashizawa, and Dr. Brian Solow in Family Practice; Dr. Anthony Wong, Dr. Dung Trinh, and Dr. Terence Offenberger (hospitalist) in Internal Medicine; and Dr. Trung Truong and Dr. Brad Curtis, in Pediatrics. Drs. Ashizawa, Solow, Offenberger, Trinh, Truong and Curtis are all repeat honorees, having been recognized last year or in previous years.

In 2005, Orange Coast magazine in partnership with the Orange County Medical Association, the largest physician membership organization in the county representing over 2,500 doctors, developed the Physicians of Excellence program. This annual program aims to honor the region’s many outstanding physicians.

Physicians are nominated by a patient or by a peer and then selected by a committee that consists of other physicians, medical society executives and local community leaders.

The nomination and selection process and criteria were established by a multi-specialty committee of the OCMA and approved by the Board of Directors. The selection committee reviews nominated physicians to determine if they meet or surpass the selection criteria for designation as a Physician of Excellence.

Orange Coast Magazine and OCMA believe all doctors have earned the distinction of excellence through their exhaustive training and licensing. However, there are those physicians who, through their dedication to the medical profession and service to the community, stand out above the rest.
